Madi-Saint Ritland

Her name isn't Madi-Saint lol, it's Madisyn, but she should seriously consider changing her name. I first saw her on her way to the Zac Posen show and attempted to get a picture of her but was shot down by her mother agent who gave a Medusa glare when i called Madisyn's name. Later on however I spotted her after the show ended and approached her for a picture then. Keeping with tradition, whenever people see me take pictures of someone they assume that person is important and so i started a full blown flash fiesta on poor Madisyn. However, she stayed nice and cordial during the whole party, answering questions, posing for pictures, and even giving her email to some random lady who wanted to send her the picture she just took (not an invitation for everyone to ask for Madisyn's email btw).
What I can say about Madisyn is that she is extremely nice and personable. She stays calm and collected, even during times when most models feel the need to rush away from the cameras.

Join a tribe

On the last days of fashion week I think I've seen quite enough to determine where the new york designers want their women to be in the spring/summer of 2012; the urban jungle. From Ohne Titel to Donna Karan to Altuzzara to Alexander Wang, the influence of the jungle and urban warrior is heavy. Donna and Ohne Titel took somewhat of a more direct approach using animal prints to make tribal designs where as Alexander Wang derived his tribal designs from stadium seating.

I MISS BRYANT PARK!!

<p>Today is September 11th. A day to reflect, remember, and mourn the tragedy that occured this day. Being in NY at NYFW during this time today was extra stressful for cops as well as the model photographers. Due to a earlier incident involving a shoving match erupting when heidi klum made her exit, photographers were forced into a cage of sorts to photograph whoever they needed to. It was so extra and unnecessary though. First they didn't want peole standing over here, then they didn't want you standing over there,  next Anna's car being parked in this area meant you had to move over there. It was such a circus and the celebrity fangirls and boys made it even worst.

I did have some high points during the day though. I asked Monika "jac" Jagaciak how to say her last name (Ya-Ga-Shack) and closed that chapter. Jac is very interesting to talk to. She has a very playful and whimsical way of talking. The only thing about her is she knows she can't hang around to long because if she does, its bound to cause a traffic jam. She's also been loving her hair this season. I don't blame her~it's looking teesed and popped to perfection! I also kinda sorta made a connection with Joan Smalls (she kept eyeballing my camera lol). We only chatted for a bit seeing that she somewhat knows who I am. I would like to think she feels somewhat at ease around me. Hopefully i haven't given her a reason to feel otherwise since she's one of my favorites. Keeping on the topic of talking to models, I Had the extreme pleasure of talking to Madisyn Ritland. She is a very gorgeous girl. Bright blue eyes, very happy smile, and genuinely nice and personable by nature. I'm glad she made the switch to silent where she can get more attention and given the ability to shine more!

Kate Lanfierce!

It's not a secret that I'm kinda obsessed with Kate Lanphear. I tell everyone that will listen. If you were smart, you would be obsessed with her to.
Kate is many things that other editors aren't. She is approachable, agreeable (in the sense of taking her picture), and so nice that I'm often times caught off guard.
Kates ensembles consist mostly of black or white, high heels, her trademark bleached shag, and her wrists adorned with a combo of bracelets/watches/skulls/fierceness.
As basic as these outfits read, they come across fantastic. Kate, being a woman of a certain age, wears clothes that someone in their mid 20s may wear. With editorial grace, she is able to pull it off and make it look age appropriate regardless of how old you may be.
I'll be feeding my Kate addiction in the coming days, so in the meantime...get addicted to her to.

NYFW SS201 & My Triumphant Return!!

Ok Ok I know I know
"You deserted your blog you deserter!" I deserve it. When i started this blog I had good intentions, but not good habits of upkeep...BUT NOW! I'm back. I'm ready to post and I'm ready to share. Keeping with tradition we shall start with BCBG. I can sum up the whole show in a couple words. Ahem. FW11+SS11+Proenza Schouler  inspiration=BCBG SS12. That was easy.
but there was some good that came out of the redundancy...

The beginning of NYFW and this blog!

"I am much to lazy to run a blog." Go ahead, you can quote me on that one. But that has been my sentiment for years. I always felt my blog would be all to similar to someone elses or, I felt like what I had to say was not important enough to be heard. Fast forward to 2011 and you can kiss that prehistoric way of thinking goodbye. At this point in my life my thought pattern has changed to, "if so and so can do it, I can to"; Especially with the explosion of fashion bloggers garnering the attention of the fashion set (my term for important fashion people). I won't bore you all with a my stale and uninteresting bio ( saving that for another slow and boring day), instead let us talk about NYFW (New York Fashion Week for the n00bs).

Let me start off with the atmosphere today. COLD. At first I wasn't cold at all, you know, just getting off the train and all. But then the most interesting thing happened. The cold decided to creep through my body and target my poor hands and feet. Color me sad. Anyway, what a boring day today was. There wasn't much excitement in terms of models bopping around nor were there any good stories to report. It all just felt so blah. The collections today echoed that.

BCBG
You know...I'm not entirely sure if I like BCBG, I cannot recall a time where I've said, "what a great BCBG dress your wearing!" In fact I'm sure I've never said that. With that said, BCBG is not ugly, its just...odd? I'm not sure how to put it into words..however the show today left a burning question in my head. "I thought BCBG was for the younger crowd?"
The problem I've noticed is that Max and Lubov seem to entrance themselves with the idea of sameness.
For the past few seasons I feel like we have been seeing the same ideas repeat themselves. Belted, color blocked, tunics, sheer body suits, and neutral+bright colors. It was pretty boring to watch and indeed the brighter colors woke me up from my nodding session. I particularly had a problem with the belting though. certain outfits made the models look wider rather than define the waist and i still dont understand sheer material for fall(i never will). But, there was SOME good...
